Natural Healing Meaths For Inflammation Of Bowel?

A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭
Dublin, IE

have just been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. I don't need surgery but It will be two months before my next appointment and I can start some kind of treatment. I want to try my hardest to find some kind of natural healing methods before I go back to the hospital and they prescribe me something like steroids. Does anyone have any suggestions? So far I have been trying aloe Vera but it doesn't seem to be having any affect..in quite a bit of pain:( thank you a

I am having a bad day but after a couple cups of peppermint tea this afternoon the pain has subsided so it is worth trying for a while and see if it helps. I am going to try green tea with ginger and see if that also helps with bloating.

For a few months I was taking charcoal tablets after every meal. Charcoal helps disperse gas build up in the stomach and gut (just be aware this will change the colour of your stools as charcoal is insoluble). Now I only take them when I have a episode. I also take a probiotic every morning to help promote the good bacteria in my gut to help with digestion. Green tea is also good to help with good digestion. Also Peppermint tea to help with the pain that comes with blaoting as it helps disperse the gas.

There is the FODMAP but that is a long term plan and you may not see benefits of this in the first couple of months
