Stomach bugs don't last more that a few weeks.

IBS is a lifetime disease that progressively gets worse the longer you have it. A stomach bug is very short term.

When I get a stomach flu it is usually going around work and I get a fever. Its hard to tell in the very beginning to tell the difference !
