Depression and IBS

Posted on April 11, 2018

"I’m new to this, and I’m glad I don’t suffer alone. I’m not having a good day today because I have severe stomach cramping and a sore back. I can’t pass a stool, and my depression is getting worse because of how I’m feeling." - A member of myIBSteam

On myIBSteam, the social network and online support group for those living with IBS, members talk about a range of personal experiences and struggles. Depression is one of the top 10 topics most discussed.

Here are some conversations about depression:

It’s up to my brain chemicals. Whenever they decide to cooperate, then I will not be depressed anymore.

Taking one day at the time.

Belly is pretty good today. My depression, not so much.

Does anyone else deal with morning depression?

Feel very low no energy at all.

Can you relate?
