I Have Had IBS-D Since I Was 21 And I Am Now 74. Anyone Have Success With Probiotics/prebiotic And If So Which One?
I have been taking Physicians Choice probiotic they seem to help I have ordered some prebiotics and going to try them also
I use several brands but the best for me is 1MD Biome. I take it with a psyllium fiber drink every evening. It helps keep things “together” and moving. I also use Physicians Choice brand. I was diagnosed with IBS-D 50 years ago…. Had a remission for about 5 years in my late 20s but still dealing with it at 70.
I have IBS all the time one day it D and then C.
The Probiotic I use is Schiff Intensive Bowel Support. I can only find it on Amazon. I only use it when I go through a flare. If I use it too long, it quits working for a while. If I am off it for a few weeks and go back on it, then it works for me again. I also have IBS-D, and have had it since 1991. What seems to work good for me is Greek Yogurt which has more live active cultures than regular yogurt. I am Lactose intolerant, but have no issue with the Greek kind. This seems to help, especially if I am going through a flare.
Who Has Used Prebiotics And Is It Effective In Helping Ibs ? Does It Help To Take Probiotics Too ?
